"Svefn-G-Englar" by Sigur Rós

Pushing this further out, these guys sing in a made-up language they call "Hopelandic", so the aural experience I think definitely falls into the category of trancending lyrical understanding, while taking you somewhere else, or reaching you in other ways. Maybe there is no specific meaning here that translates exactly, but something definitely clicks. See "Iceland".

The idea that a band would invent a language sounded like a bit of art-school type wankery to me. Aren't we just so avant garde! But it's not as bad as all that. It has a nice feel and the language doesn't sound strained or difficult. I'd like to know what they thought they were saying.
