As promised in an earlier comment--music and delivery transcending an understanding of the words themselves. Even if you don't know how to say upper thigh in Spanish, you'll probably get the drift here.

I think the suggestiveness of this track comes through in the style of CJM's singing - kind of half-whispered and gravelly. It sets the tone, even if you don't know the words.
Remember Buena Vista Social Club - the old Cuban guys made famous by Ry Cooder? I really dig their sound. I don't speak Spanish, but pretended to so I could sing along. And then I read the lyrics. That completely changed my perception of the music.
Some of the songs, which I pictured as light and breezy, were actually a little steamy. I don't know if I was expecting that old men wouldn't be singing about getting raunchy on the beach. (I'm not quite as old as them so cannot relate personally.)
Anyway, knowing the lyrics changed my reaction to the songs. I liked them more!
